It’s amazing to me sometimes how different someone can interpret a song, and this is no exception. Our good friend Jaan of the new band Videodromes did this 80′s’esque cover of Pot Calls Kettle black that I can’t get enough of. It’s so different than the song I wrote and recorded, but works. Enjoy the dancing you’re about to do:

…To the new Small Sins web site. We’re still working out a couple of the kinks, but this looks like its pretty much going to be what it is. Thanks so much to our wonderful guitar player turned web site guy Steve, and our new keyboard player turned graphic design guy Jaan. We will be getting together more and more content over the next couple of weeks, and the song of the week feature should be up and running by August 15th. Oh – and the new record. That will be available soon as well. Looks like September now. Enjoy! TKD
I need your help with two things…
I wrote a Hockey Night In Canada theme song for their contest. Please go and watch it, and if the mood strikes you, log in and give it a high rating. Here is the link:

Also, XM radio has nominated us for Best Band and Best album. Vote for artist Small Sins and album Mood Swings here:

Thanks to the good people of MySpace for making us their featured artist over the weekend. For a few more days, you can go to our page there and preview a stream of the entire album. Also, listen to this weeks podcast from Grant Lawrence of the CBC to hear ‘Drunk E-Mail’, or to U.S. National Public Radio to hear the song of the day, ‘I Need A Friend’.
We’ve been rehearsing over the past few days to learn how to play more of the new songs live, so look forward to hearing a very ‘new album heavy’ set if you make it out to any of our first few shows this week.
This weeks short movie is episode one of ‘In the van with Thom of Small Sins – the band’. This is where I talk about nothing while very bored in the van on the way to the next show. As always, it is very silly. Enjoy!
For all of you XM radio listeners out there, The Verge is doing a full album premier next week to celebrate the release of our new record, Mood Swings. They will be airing every song on the record in sequence at 4am, 10am, 4pm and 10pm, all cut with interviews with me talking about each song. Tune in!
More shows continue to get confirmed and added to the site, so keep looking, and hopefully we will be coming to a town near you. With Brent flying in on Wednesday, we are about to start rehearsing more of the new material, all of which should be ready to perform by the time we play our record release on Wednesday the 26th at The Supermarket in Toronto.
As far as this weeks YouTube video, this one was filmed by our own clapper, Mr. Kevin Hilliard. We recently played a festival show in Edmonton opening for Sloan. One show only and we were straight back home again. This is Kevin’s version of the events that occurred.
