Positivity

In retrospect, I guess my last entry may have seemed a bit negative somehow. This was not my intention! There isn’t much to tell you guys right now, but the songs that I’ve been working on for record number three are some of the best in Small Sins history. My focus is on making the best record I can, and so far it’s looking good. So don’t worry about me, you caring commenters. Things are coming along fabulously, and you will receive an update that seems more like real news soon. In the meantime, here is a compilation of various clips uploaded for the Eyeka contest - which is now over.

Lazy Blogging

Well, I guess we always get back to this point huh? There’s no new record, and no new tours, so I just stop writing on the web site all together. But rest assured, things are happening. Our CMW show as well as other Ontario dates were all very successful, and plans are already in the works for a NxNW performance in June. Other than a smattering of gigs here and there, I continue to work on writing what will be the third Small Sins record. Hopefully it will somehow come out by the Summer, but who knows. Some things are beyond my control. It’s coming along well though and is surely my best work.

On The Line

Here’s the video! Enjoy it, comment on it, love it. Also, its a new mix of the song, prepared by Mr. John McEntire. This mix kicks the ass of the old mix.

Much Music / The Cansecos

Well, we finally finished the video for ‘On The Line’ a few weeks back, and MuchMusic was nice enough to add us on their station, as well as on MuchLoud. Are we Loud? Anyway, feel free to go and request it from them. I will probably post a digital version on line within the next few days.

Also, our touring partners from the last Canadian trip, The Cansecos, have done a remix of a Small Sins song. It’s for the track ‘Holiday’, and you can hear it on their site:

What’s your favorite small sin?

Small Sins and www.eyeka.com are having a contest. You just have to answer one question: What is your favorite small sin? To participate all you have to do is upload a photo or video of you and your favorite small sin. This contest is open to anyone with a camera and an imagination. So put your thinking caps on folks and be as creative as possible.

Thomas can explain it better here.

Enter now and you could be the winner of an Ipod Nano!

Mood Swings in France!

French record label, Reset Junior, will be releasing Small Sins’ newest album “Mood Swings” in France on Feb 18th 2008! For more information you can go here!

One Last Chore

Usually after a tour, we send Brent right home to Vancouver and don’t see him until we go on tour again. The same is true this time around, but we did do one thing before he got on his plane. We made a video for the song, ‘On The Line’, directed by Frank Guidoccio and Victor Tavares. The video isn’t done yet, but here is a behind the scenes look of what is to come:

Small Sins Come Home!

We’re back.

What a great tour, but boy am I glad to be home for a while. I’m going to sleep in my own bed tonight which is very exciting, thus I’ll keep this short.

We’re playing a homecoming show this Saturday (Nov. 24th) at the Rivoli. It will be our last show until the spring.

COME.

Here is a movie Kevin made:

West Coast Touring

We’ve covered a lot of road over the last week or so. I think I might go with a point form update:

- Thanks to everyone at the Mod Club show with Major Maker. Both bands worked great together, and I didn’t get too tired to play a second gig in a single night. Great crowd with great foam hand clapping participation.

- Congratulations to Todor for being voted Toronto’s Best Keyboard player by NOW magazine, Toronto.

- 24 hour drive to Austin? Who cares, because we had two great shows in one day. Wicked bands, and friendly Fun Fun Fest staff that made life easy. BBQ and late show with Mates of State = good day. See movie below.

- L.A. show with the Thrills and a visit to the club from the cast of The Hills. We won’t be on the show but we did get to watch them be slutty from afar.

- We rocked Pop Scene in San Fran. Some guy wanted to fight me because his girlfriend looked at me. Hmmm.

- Portland -> Seattle -> Vancouver -> TODAY.

Home for a few days

It looks like we’ve completed our Eastern dates. The tour has been alright, but I have to admit that some bad luck (like playing Boston on the first night of the World Series) and some illness (I caught the flu) made the last week a bit difficult. We did what we needed to to get through it, and I don’t think many of you were the wiser, but I certainly am glad to be home for a few days. Only a home town show to do between now and Friday. I hope my throat is better by then. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you on the West Coast.
